YOUR HEALING JOURNEY

You might be surprised to know that healing from chronic stress and trauma follows a step by step process. I'm going to briefly outline each step below:

phase one

What they did probably sucked so hard and caused you major issues. Turning our attention away from this point into our own direction does not, I repeat, DOES NOT mean that the person/people/situation(s) need to be ignored, forgiven or that what happened was ok. Not at all. ​ It DOES however, take the power out of the emotional rollercoaster situation and give it back to you. Once you decide it's your 'thing' to deal with even though you don't deserve the responsibilty of fixing what they broke, it gives you more options and freedom to move on. Once we actually admit to ourselves it's a problem, a problem we can't continue accepting in our lives any longer, that we can't just "cope" with, this is where we start to realise maybe we can't just do it all on our own and we might need some professional assistance. Only then will we start to entertain the idea of phase two.

​​If you are lucky, Phase two of healing is generally when we get into the inner most painful parts of our core wounds that drive our behaviours and shape our self worth beliefs. In this phase you work through current problems and assess how emotions are stuck from painful memories and work through reprocessing what comes up and how it feels. The unlucky ones? Unfortunately, a lot of people get stuck here at this point cycling around through practitioner or specialist, types of healing modalities, self help books, courses, doctors or medications but never quite are able to get to the root cause of why this keeps rearing it's ugly head over and over, haunting them throughout their life no matter who or what they leave behind, no matter what new experiences they try to have. It remains or sometimes even gets worse! Most clients see me from this point having remained here even if they have done talk therapy or other complementory modalities. Sometimes clients even feel super stuck after trying an assortment of meds or getting a diagnosis or two (chronic immune disorder, chronic fatigue or endometriosis girlies I'm looking at you...). In this phase it's common to be cycling around in the "I need to fix myself because I must be the problem" mentality so this is where I help clients move into phase three.

phase three

Phase three is all about fully embodying a happy and less emotionally triggered life. Going through the motions of what the healed version of yourself does while embracing what brings you true happiness and joy with no shame or guilt. Sounds like a pipe dream doesn't it? But think about this for a second, in those moments you feel shitty, what would she do? that higher version of you, how does she deal with it? How does she conduct herself? During this part of healing it is important to strengthen the new self belief systems and worth narratives we worked hard to achieve in session. In order to strengthen the new brain wiring and integrate the healing we must use it like building a muscle. After the session you determine action steps that will prove to you that you have healed a deep core wound and are ready to be unstoppable AF in this journey of emotions and actions that we call life. One huge marker that will prove to you that you are a changed human because the you that set foot into the healing session thought she couldn't deal with something inparticular. That post healing session you though? She knows her worth and actually believes it now. She won't be made to feel small or insignificant any more. She's got shit to do, places to be and unconditional love to show herself.
